Blog: How do you pick up your sports routine again after your holiday?

    13-09-2018

You get used to the good life at such a long summer, which is why it is extra difficult to get back into your sports routine again.

For the most people the summer holiday is already over. We can admit that, with the hottest summer ever, we probably have skipped a training. The whole sport routine has been off the ground for a while. It is also quite difficult to combine sports and holiday, if you can sit fully installed on a beautiful beach, with a bottle of beer in your left hand and a good book in the right. Actually, after the sun went down, you wanted to do an hour of sports but suddenly you'll be invited to a 'small' barbecue with friends again. A good example of a wonderful and unsporting day of your holiday.

You get used to the good life at such a long summer, which is why it is extra difficult to get back into your sports routine again.

Maybe there will be a nice late summer, then you can still enjoy the beautiful weather. You can, for example, opt for an outdoor training. Do you live close to the beach? Or close to a beautiful park or forest? Go for a run after your work, after all there will be still some daylight! But do not become too fanatic, start calmly, so you avoid any injuries.

It is also very important to set new goals. Setting a goal for yourself motivates you to train regularly. Then you know why you are doing this! To support these goals, you can put an extra stick behind, for example by registering for a running competition. Then you have a goal, you train for something, and there is no way back.

Try to put aside some money for a new sports outfit. Now you have no excuses that you have nothing to wear while exercising. You will steal the show during the running race! An extra motivation!

But the biggest excuse for not starting somewhere is not having enough time for something. You can simply schedule sports in your diary. Just free up some time and plan it. Do not let anything in between, so you always have an hour to exercise. Time is no excuse.

Do you find your exercise boring on your own? You are not the only one who’s back from vacation, that also applies to your friends. Speak to them to work out and immediately exchange all the beautiful holiday stories.
